Lightning: 17 yr old imported Welsh mare
Lightning has a dappled coat that is considered Silver Dun coloring. When she arrived, she had full rotation on all 4 feet due to severe founder/laminitis. After a full year of rehabilitation she is now perfectly sound and a wonderful promotional pony. She is quite affectionate and loves to go places.

Myrrhcy: Lightning's foal -- now a 2-yr. old filly
Myrrhcy is quite friendly and has been halter trained since she was 6 weeks old. Her coat coloring is Dun. She will be one of our foundation program ponies when she is 4. A harness for her would help with her training (cost: $150 - $350)

Leah: 11 yr old Tri-Colored Arabian/Paint Cross
Leah was rescued from Sugarcreek “meat” Auction in 2006. We think she is about 11 years old and has had many foals. She still has trouble trusting people. Those unable to emotionally attach relate to her. Leah’s name means ”from the sheltered places.”

Hope: POA, Sorrel Pony
Hope was rescued from Sugarcreek “meat” Auction in 2005. We are not sure about her age, or even what kind of pony. She has been severely beaten. Even after all this time, we still cannot touch her. Hope is the severest case of animal cruelty we have ever dealt with.

Faith is a very curious pony! She is chestnut or sorrel colored. We are planning on using her as a therapeutic pony when she is 4.

Mandy: 18 Year Old Bay, Welsh Cob/Pinto Cross Pony
Mandy was a former national competition jumper. She was constantly being overfed, consequentially she foundered a lot. Now she is quite healthy and friendly. She loves kids. Her eye is part brown and part blue.

Love is quite adorable, and is ready to begin her training. She is quite curious and friendly. She loves all the attention and will make a wonderful program pony when she is 4 years old. A harness for her would help with her training (cost: $150 - $350).

Liz: 17 Year Old Haflinger Draft Pony Mare
Liz was an Amish plow type horse that had foundered. She has been sound now for 2 years. She pulls a wagonette when we are in parades. She is quite calm and gentle. Estimated expenses for care:

Black Beauty: 23+ yr. old Black American / UK Shetland Cross
Black Beauty was rescued from the side of a mountain in PA. She didn’t have human contact including vet or farrier care for at least 8 years. We could not touch her when she arrived. She is now our best therapeutic pony. Nothing upsets this pony except putting any kind of fowl/poultry on her back. However the cats & kittens love to take a nap on her.

Prince has a great temperament and we are looking forward to seeing how much he will benefit so many. He is quite friendly and affectionate. Prince is very patient with those who need it and very playful with experienced handlers.

Nellie:10 Year Old Tri-Colored Spotted Saddle Horse Mare
Nellie had been misdiagnosed & her previous owners were spoiling her to the point her health was severely impaired. We rehabilitated her for over a year to get her healthy and mentally aware of her surroundings. She is gaited which means she will be a smooth ride once she is finishing with her training. She is very beautiful and quite affectionate.

Myrrh was our first official rescue.
He was extremely starved & full of worms however his personality was & is AWESOME!

Alex: 12 Year old black Standardbred (blind)
Alex is a totally blind gelding. His blindness is partly from poor nutrition, partly from gravel getting kicked up into his face by passing cars. He is extremely healthy. We need to raise $1,000 to remove his eyes to protect from Glaucoma, pain, & optical cancers.

Angel: 3 yr. old brown & white Paint Pony Mare (in foal)
Angel was an abandoned mare heavily in foal. She had never had her feet trimmed until she came here. She is extremely shy, but is beginning to trust us and is picking up weight. She has a long way to go.

Benjamin: 5Year Old White Pony Hinny
Benjamin was one complete mass of burrs when we picked him up. Though healthy looking we didn’t see anything for him to eat. He came from Vermillion area. He is trained to ride/drive. We can get a harness and cart for him for $300.

Cinnamon Star: Ginger's foal -- 8 month old Mustang/Egyptian Arab cross
Star is a very rambunctious and high energy colt. When we are able we will be getting him gelded. He is very healthy, curious, & fast!!

Comanche came to us because his owner lost her job & is no longer able to care for him. He has bonded well with several of our clients. He has also picked up quite a bit of weight as well. He is well loved.

Dancer was extremely thin when we rescued her a few months ago. She had a body score of 1-1.5. Currently she is 4. She will improve as she is being ridden & worked. She will make a great 3 day eventer or show horse for an advanced rider.
